Levels of Membership

• Individual/Family:
  Must have a collection comprised of original works of art from at least seven (7) different artists of African Descent. This includes paintings, sculptures, assemblage, fine art photographs and original prints. Potential Collectors must be interviewed by at least one member of the Board of Directors.
  
• Private:
  Must provide a letter to the Board certifying that they meet the criteria of the Individual or Family Collector They must also be interviewed by at least one member of the Board of Directors. The names will not be listed on any DR materials and only the Board of Directors will be aware of your membership. This level is for individuals wishing to be supportive and private.
  
• Institutional:
  Must have a collection comprised of original works of art from at least ten (10) different artists of African Descent. This includes paintings, sculptures, assemblage, fine art photographs and original prints. The Board of Directors must also view the collection. If the institution does not meet the requirements listed above at the time they wish to join, they may join; however, the institution will be expected to meet these requirements during the first year of its membership.
  
• Emerging Collectors:
  Must have a collection comprised of less than seven (7) different artists of African Descent. This includes paintings, sculptures, assemblage, fine art photographs and original prints. Must also be interviewed by at least one member of the Board of Directors. One may remain an Emerging Collector for up to three years. It is expected that the Emerging Collector will have achieved the level of Individual or Family Collector within the three year period.

Institutional members are limited to two representatives at DR invitational events

All membership information regarding DR members’ Collections are not releasable to the public without your written authorization.
