Inspired by the Spirits of our African Leaders Gracing through their talents and energy
These are the Spirits of our Ancestors
They surround us, interpret, and entertain
They heal, encourage, and teach They set for us our foundation, We learn and produce.

Symbolized by our integrity, strength, and sensitivities,
Existing for our unity and pride Our spirits are influential Our spirits are intellectual
Our spirits are masterful Our spirits have answers,
We anticipate, they provide.
Accept their guidance for they have a mission
Protecting us against sadness, danger, and evil Some sooth our fears
Some listen to our troubles
Some change negative habits Some encourage our bravery, We triumph, they reward us,

They are here as we need them,
Just reach, they don’t hide Through our ministries Through our imaginations Through our logic Through our hearts, Ancient Spirits are real, so believe. A past career teaching of art I guided and encouraged,
The spirits said become an artist—
Therefore, I did. Rest in Peace, Ancient Spirit—
Do your thing.
